Keep Your Skin Happy as Autumn Arrives

Keep Your Skin Happy as Autumn Arrives

Its hit that time of year again, the less than harmonious change between summer and autumn. We are in a turmoil over whether we can still get away with wearing summer fashion, or it is definitely time for the Winter wardrobe to start rearing its head. Not to mention the effect the seasonal change has on our hair and skin. In summer we are glowing and natural, but as winter hits and the sun removes his hat- we hit winter skin territory. Here at Secret Salons we have compiled our best solutions to skin difficulties that flare up at this time –

spot creamSpots

The time old problem of spots particularly flares up at this time of year, and you can always count on them to show up right when you have a big date or event, or just day really! Various factors come into play as the reason behind spots – stress, diet, lifestyle. However, never fear! A good skin care regime can keep these little blighters away, especially an overnight spot treatment cream. It is also of vital importance to not squeeze spots, even if they seem all ripe and squeezable, restrain yourself to prevent scaring and spreading infection. Also a great cover up stick containing blemish-fighting ingredients is an excellent addition to any make up bag.

Redness

One problem some people have to contend with at this time of year is the small red blotches, or the flush that fills your cheeks asskin care you brace the chill. This redness can be due to skin damage from the summer, making the skin more sensitive to the changes in temperature. To combat this problem you should take a look at what skin care products you use and check they are suitable for sensitive skin. A gentle moisturiser targeted at reducing redness is also a brilliant idea, you’re skin will be back to its normal, even tone in no time. In the mean time though, using a green tinted foundation helps cover up the redness perfectly! Sounds a little bit bizarre, (Wicked Witch of the West springs to mind...), but the green actually cuts out the red giving the skin a more neutral tone.

Pigmentation Marks

During this seasonal transition brown pigmentation marks can crop up on our skin, having us reaching for a thick stick of concealer. The cause is those damn hormones, affecting melanin levels in the skin resulting in discolouration. Getting rid of them can be tough but using a specially formulated pigment regulator can really help fade those pesky marks. Also, as barmy as it sounds, wearing spf throughout winter will keep these

marks away from your skin.
