How To Achieve An Oval Face Shape By Using Adequate Makeup?

In the beauty world an oval shaped face is considered the ideal shape for women.
Those who are not born with this shape should still celebrate their unique and
individual looks, but for those who would like to achieve the oval shape,
here are some contouring and highlighting tips for each facial shape.

• Start with applying your usual concealer, foundation and loose facial powder.
Then, before continuing with makeup colors, use tools such as contouring powder approximately 1-2 shades darker than your skin tone, a highlighting powder,
a blush brush and a large powder brush.
Square Face: Characterized by a slightly wider forehead and an equal
measurement of the jaw line. Apply the contouring shade above the temples
and lower tips of the jaw (beneath the earlobes). Apply highlighter on the center
of the forehead, under the eyes and tip of chin.

Take a Kleenex, put it between your lips and gently close your lips
the way you normally would close them, to remove excess lipstick.
This will prevent the embarrassment of having lipstick on your teeth.

You may wish to try a lipstick sealer.
Brush it over your lipcolour and let it dry for one minute.
Your lipstick will never bleed or feather into your liplines.

Keep your lips smooth. Moisturize them every night.

A matte lipstick looks very sexy and also stays on much longer,
especially if you have a lot of lines around your mouth.

Brush some oil-free powder foundation over your lashes

Brush some oil-free powder foundation over your lashes
then apply your mascara.
The mascara will stay on much longer.
Let the mascara dry a bit before applying the 2nd coat for a thicker look.

Don't use waterproof mascara every day.
It's very hard to remove and will take out your lashes as well.
Lashes take a long time before they grow in again.

You can get your eyelashes dyed.
It will last about 4 - 5 weeks.

Try experimenting with different colors: maybe brown, navy or green.

To get the most of your mascara brush, try twirlinng,
as pumping will cause it to dry out sooner.

If your mascara is new, yet you notice some deposit on the wand,
tissue off the wand before applying to prevent smudging.

When applying more than one coat,
combing through lashes will help prevent clumping.

Using the proper application technique when applying mascara
is extremely important when you are trying to achieve a finished look.

Make sure that the mascara covers the lashes from the root
to the tip of the lash.

Before using eye shadows on the lids,

Before using eye shadows on the lids, always test the colours
on the back of the hand to see the intensity.
Remember, pale tones emphasize, while deep sooty shades define.

Apply an oil-free powder foundation on top of your eyelids
before applying your eyeshadow.
The eyeshadow will last all day without settling in the crease.

Choose a primary colour (the colour you want to stand out the most)
and use short strokes to cover your whole eyelid.

Apply just enough pressure to lay the colour down without caking it onto your lids.
Be especially careful not get too close to the crease or your eyebrows.

Smokey eyes are very sexy.
With the right colours you can make your eyes stand out.
You can basically work with 3 colours: a light, a medium and a dark(er) shade.
For example, gentle earthtones are very flattering to any skin types.

Try it as a base eyeshadow.
Apply it all over your eyelid.

Apply the medium shade of a taupe for example or a medium brown
between the lashes and the crease and use a darker taupe, bronze,
brown or grey in the crease.

Use the darkest eyeshadow to draw a line right along the
lashes with a thin flat brush instead of an eyeliner
or a pencil to create a smokey look.

Don't draw the line all the way to the inner corner of the eyes,
just go 1/2 way or even less.

Sparingly apply a lighter eye shadow colour above your primary colour
and below your eyebrow.
You should be able to cover the entire area in one sweep.

To give your eyes a 'smoky' look, choose a dark blue,
grey or black eye shadow and brush it around the outer corners
of your eyes and blend it into your primary eyeliner.
Don't stray further than a quarter inch away from your eyes.

• For a natural look your foundation must match your skin tone.
Test foundations along your jawline. The best color will disappear into your skin.

• Spread foundation on your hands and pat it on your face,
then smooth out with a sponge.

• Be extra careful in the area around your eyes where the skin is super thin.
Don't forget to apply foundation on your eyelids, as well.

• On hot days foundation can be difficult to keep looking fresh.
Set your foundation in the morning using a loose powder and puff,
then do regular touch ups throughout the day.

• To make foundation last apply moisturizer first giving the foundation a base.
Dry skin will soak up the foundation if not given that base. For oily skin use
an oil-free moisturizer and powder foundation.

• To cover imperfections apply foundation first and then go back
and dot on a concealer that neutralizes red.

• For noticeable imperfections like very dark circles and
birthmarks use a yellow concealer.
Don't use too much powder in problem areas because it will draw attention to it.

• To avoid a foundation line around the jaw apply foundation as usual
then use a little moisturizer in your hand and blend it down your neck.

• For evening mix some shimmer powder with your powder
and put it where you want to attract light such as the bridge of the nose,
underneath the brow bone, the temples, cheekbone, chin and shoulders.

• Always use a foundation with a sunscreen of at least 15
to prevent future sun damage.

• Change your foundation shade if the color of your skin changes.

• After you apply foundation go near a window to make sure it looks natural.
Natural light is the ultimate test.

Other Facial Applications

Other Facial Applications - For your other color cosmetics applied to face,
&nbsphere are the general outlines:

Concealer: Using a taklon concealer brush or an all-over eyeshadow brush,
dip it into the concealer or foundation you’re using, tap off most of the excess
and apply directly to the area you want to conceal.
Blend well. If you’re using an all over concealer, complexion enhancer,
finishing powder, etc. use a fluffy face brush and swirl, tap and brush
lightly in a downward motion.

Eyeshadow/Eyeliner Application: You can apply mineral makeup wet or dry.
Applying it wet is called “foiling” and makes the colors more bold and can even
change them slightly in some cases. For regular application, simply dip the brush
into the color, tap off the excess and apply like you normally would.

For foiling, mix some minerals with water, hydrosol, eye primer, etc.
until a creamy consistency. Then apply as you normally would.
When dry you can buff with a dry brush to blend
(but this may cause some of the mica to come away).

The foiling method works very well for eye lining.
Colors that might be too bold to wear on your eye make great liner colors.
Foiling them will help them last longer and show up better.

These basic tips should help you apply mineral make up like a professional.

Applying Foundation Wet:

Applying Foundation Wet: There are a couple of ways to do it.

• With A Brush: Mix your foundation and some water/moisturizer/lotion, etc.
Then dip your brush in it and apply in a downward motion.
It will dry to a soft powder.

• With A Puff/Sponge: You can either dampen your puff or sponge
and dip it into your foundation and apply in a downward motion;
or mix the foundation with water/moisturizer/lotion and apply with a sponge.
It will dry to a soft powder.

Finally, you can apply your foundation dry, then mist with a hydrosol
or something similar and either use a brush or a sponge
to smooth the moisture into the powder.
Make sure to use a downward motion.
Some women even like to layer their makeup this way.

Why the downward motion? Your pores and facial fuzz lay that way naturally.
When you smooth your makeup that direction it makes a more “natural” look.
