Acne Scar Cover

Acne Scar Cover

We all aspire to have a clear, flawless and smooth skin that is soft to touch. When we are affected by acne, the general tendency is to squeeze and flatten them out. Though this is natural, this may in turn lead to short and long term problems such as persistent redness, hyper pigmentation or large brown stains, and scarring. The best way to treat acne is to prevent them from forming or treating them as early as possible.

But to cover up the scars that are already there, one needs to go in for a make-up that not only cover up the scars but also not damage the skin. The trick is to not go in for lighter shades but darker ones. The best way to cover-up is to use thick water resistant colors that are available in a huge variety of shades.

How to cover up your acne scars

The process of concealing the scars or applying makeup can be best followed using the steps given below:

• Put on your foundation using a wet sponge. The sponge brings in more smoothness and sheer to your face.

• The foundation is used to deduce where the concealer needs to be applied more thickly.

• Next apply the concealer. Always use a shade in the beige or yellow tone to cover up any visible red marks.

• In order to effectively cover up holes or scars, its best to use a synthetic brush to apply the concealer. Then blend the surrounding areas with the foundation that you have already applied earlier.

• Always make sure your neck too gets the same application of foundation so that both the neck and the face have the same color.

• Lastly powder your face to set your make-up. This will actually make your face look more natural.

• Stay away from cheaper products or dollar stores and use only branded products that have a reputation in the market.

• Never dip your concealer applicator in the bottle and apply it directly over the zit. Reapplying concealer to your face is likely to spread more bacteria.

• Always apply acne concealer with a cotton swab or a disposable facial sponge. Never use the applicator stick that comes with the concealer to minimize the spread of bacteria.

• Do not pile up your face with make-up just because you have acne. Always apply your make-up and moisturizer with light strokes. This will prevent you from stretching and irritating your skin.

• Evenly apply your make-up throughout your face including your hairline area.

• But before you start applying make-up to your hairline area remember to cleanse it with a warm cloth to remove the waxy build up that gets formed due to hairstyling agents.

• Removing the waxy build-ups will greatly reduce the chances of your pores getting clogged and your acne going on an overdrive.

• As always, the cardinal rule is to strip your face off any make-up before you hit the sack. Wash your face thoroughly as soon as you reach home, to allow your skin to breathe and your acne to get fresh air.

• Finally, always go in for oily free makeup products that match your skin tone. You wouldn't want to aggravate your already oily skin with more oily products. Therefore choose a hypoallergenic brand that is suitable for your skin
