Men and women have very different ways of looking after their bodies. And when it comes to hair, it is even worse. Men are lucky as they have to shave, put on their shirt and trousers and they are ready for the occasion. We women worry a lot about the world staring at those dark strands on our chin or upper lip and we turn a hot shade of embarrassing red. Every body will give you advice on what to do with them as advice is like kissing, doesn’t cost you but always a pleasure. The fuss about still surround you with friends insisting you to get an electrolysis and grandmother horrifying you with her own advice you are going crazy trying to decide how.
Why?
Facial could appear because of hereditary reasons. You could be taking medicines with steroids which often disturb the natural hormonal balance in our bodies and stimulate the chin, upper lip or even chest. Pregnancy also triggers hormonal changes. Tropical climate stimulates hair growth. Prolonged stress can also unbalance hormones, triggering
Getting Rid Of Them
You could adapt either of the following:
1. Tweezing: You pull out each strand with a sharp-eyed tweezers. It is completely inexpensive. Also, you don't pull out extra hair but it is very painful and it stimulates hair growth. Besides that it is time-consuming and temporary.
2. Threading: You twist a loop of thread, the hair gets caught in the loop and you pull out whole rows of hair. It is faster than tweezing and inexpensive. You also inadvertently pull out the fine downy hair too. So re growth is thicker. It is not suitable for superfluous
3. Waxing: It pulls hair out from the roots. When growth is not too heavy, waxing is an effective way to depilate you. It lasts for three to six weeks. Paraffin-based wax {katori wax) is more suitable since it has zero moisture and so less likely to cause infections. It is effective, if done regularly and last longer than threading or tweezing. A full face wax costs between Rs50 and Rs 100. In this case hair has to be left to grow until its long enough to be waxed again.
4. Electrolysis: A needle is inserted along the hair shaft and an electric current is passed to the hairs destroying the hair from the root. Though one section is not enough, it requires 3-4 as per individual’s growth and texture. It is a costly affair and some times side effects do occur. It is though a permanent method.
5. Bleaching: The colour of the facial hair is lightened with chemicals to merge with . Though technically it is not removal of superfluous hair, it makes it considerably less noticeable. There are different kinds of bleach like home bleach, powder bleach, cream bleach etc., all unkind on the skin, but the degrees of harm vary.
