How to do a hot oil treatment at home:
- A hot oil treatment is also known as hot oil massage treatment. To put it very simply all you need to do is warm the oil, use a cotton wool to apply the oil to the roots of your hair.
- Use your finger tips to gently massage the oil into your scalp.
- Wear a shower cap (made of porous material).
- Take a bath towel soaked in warm water. Squeeze out the excess water. (You would not like hot water to run down your face and neck!)
- Wrap this towel (like a turban) around your head. Leave it on for about 10-15 minutes. The heat of the steam (from the towel) will help the oil get absorbed into your scalp.
- Wash you hair with a mild shampoo. Make sure that no shampoo remains in your hair and your hair is squeaky clean.
- Take a liter of water. Add the honey. Mix well. Apply this to your hair as the conditioner.
- Do not wash your hair after applying the honey conditioner. Use a soft towel to dry your hair. Do not use a hair dryer. Comb your hair using a wide-toothed comb.
