Apple Skin Toner

"An Apple a day keeps a doctor away", is the best way to define the goodness of an apple. Besides being good for health, many beauty experts consider apple as a great skin toner. Here, we bring you a natural skin care tip that you will find very useful for your skin. Instead of buying alcohol-based toners from the stores you could consider preparing this skin care recipe at home with natural ingredients.

An Apple Skin Toner is a great replacement for alcohol-based toners, which may have an adverse effect on your skin. If you have an oily skin then an apple toner could be part of your daily skin care regime.

To prepare an Apple Skin Toner you will need:

  • One large apple cored apple with the skin intact.
  • 1cup of water (if you have distilled water then use distilled water instead)
  • A clean glass bottle
  • 2/3 cup witch hazel
  • 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • Lavender essential oil or any other essential oil that you prefer

Preparation of Apple skin toner:

  • In a small pan, boil the apple pieces in water for few minutes until soft .
  • Remove from the heat and it cool.
  • Strain the liquid and discard the apple pieces.
  • To this liquid add the witch hazel and apple cider vinegar while stirring constantly.
  • Add few drops of the essential oil.
  • Let the solution stand in for few minutes.
  • Pour the solution in a glass bottle and refrigerate.
* For a pink tinge to the toner, use bright red-skinned apples. If you prefer a green tinge then use green apples.

How to Apply:

  • Clean your skin.
  • Dip a cotton ball in the toner and dab on your face and neck.
  • Let it dry.
This is an effective toner for an oily skin. Witch hazel is a gentle astringent while apple cider vinegar maintains the natural pH balance of the skin. Lavender oil soothes your skin and keeps you refreshed throughout the day.
