Why do Face Painting?

Face painting is done for fun but now-a-days it is gaining importance among many people. Not only the young children but also the older folks are also interested in this. It is an artistic way of applying cosmetic paint to a person's face. It is only for temporary period of time unlike tattoos. It is practiced from ancient times. It is also been used for other reasons like hunting, religious reasons and military reasons. Even the tribes and Native Americans used face painting. In the modern times people did face paintings as a means of entertainment during fairs, large open-air markets.

Different types of Face Painting:

There are two types of fact painting. One is doing it using paint form tubs and the other is by using stick paint. It is always good to experiment with both the types before coming to a conclusion.

Things to look into while doing Face Painting:

To cover a large area of your face with face painting, use a sponge. It makes the application faster and even. Give time for the paint to dry or else the colors on your face will get mixed.

Before painting, have a concept in mind. You need not worry about painting a complicated design to get better result. Use baby wipes in place of tissues and toilet paper while face painting. Since the baby wipes is wet, you can wipe out the paints very easily.

Try different paints to decide on which will suit the person.

Having a picture of what exactly you want from painting a face helps you in doing your work well.

To get bumpy noses or big eyebrows, you can always soak cotton in the paint and fix it in the position on the face, paint on it after covering with a tissue as the paint itself acts as glue.
