How To Detox Your Skin

How To Detox Your Skin

How To Detox Your Skin detox your skin bodyAs we know skin is the body’s largest organ of elimination, that’s why looking after it isn’t just about having a gorgeous and sun-kissed complexion. The skin can easily absorb toxins directly from the environment. The skin’s pores, which release the toxins in sweat, can easily become clogged by pollutant particles, sebaceous glands’ oils and cosmetics. That’s why a skin detox is essential to make your skin glow again.

There are many ways to help your skin eliminate the toxins: hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, skin exfoliating, steam and sauna, contrast showers, different SPA procedures, home-made masks, eating healthy and drinking plenty of water.

Body Exfoliation
A regular full body and face exfoliation is essential in order to remove the dead skin cells and plumps up both your blood circulation and lymph. The gentle massage during a full-body exfoliation has also a beneficial effect on areas of cellulite. Exfoliate the whole body every third day and your skin will be firm, smooth and free of the toxins. Do it in the morning as the acceleration of blood flow has quite an invigorating effect. Start at your feet and work upwards, brushing the legs, then buttocks, then on to the chest and stomach and finally the face. When exfoliating your body you stimulate blood and lymph flow, help eliminate toxins from your skin, encourage skin cells to regenerate and help combat cellulite. Exfoliate gently every 3/ 4 days to keep your pores clear.

Sauna
Sauna is a good way to cleanse your skin from the toxins, because sweat is the most important elimination route of toxins. It is a powerful method of eliminating the toxins and dirt that are stored in fat cells. During a sauna, blood flow to the skin increases to 55% of cardial output. This flow brings important nutrients to the surface tissue, promoting cellular activity and growth. Your sweat cleans out the pores and cleans the skin from the toxins and the impurities clogged in it.

The benefits of the sauna are :

  • the heart rate increased by 50 %
  • blood vessels become flexible
  • provide a comprehensive cleansing of the skin
  • stimulates your immune system
  • loosen fatty tissues
  • combat cellulite
  • provide a clear and healthy skin

Contrast Shower
In the shower, alternate hot and cold jets of water to boost your circulation and liven up your skin. Doing so, you promote detoxification and strengthen your immune system.

  • Most of the skin creams contain mineral oils, which suffocate the skin, trapping toxins under the surface and resulting in dullness spots, pimples and even acne formation. Avoid using heavy creams containing mineral oils, instead opt for those containing natural plant oils. These products will allow your skin to breath easily.
  • Don’t use any makeup products for at least 3 days, allow your skin to breath
  • Don’t use heavy makeup products – heavy foundations, powders, creams
  • It’s essential to eat many fruits and vegetables every day
  • Drink at least 1/5 liter water a day, the water is essential for healthy and glowing skin
  • Don’t smoke, drink alcohol and limit the consumption of coffee.

How to get rid of acne

How to get rid of acne

How to get rid of acne the acne1 generalAcne is the world’s most common skin disease. Acne is an inflammatory disease of the skin that starts when oil and dead skin cells clog up the pores. It requires very serious skin-care regime and much patience. The acne treatment is a complicated and long process, but no one should give up trying to fight with acne.
You should fallow a few simple steps to fight the acne:

Step 1

Every day facial cleansing
Wash your face twice a day with mild cleansers, which cleanse the skin without drying it and rid. If your skin is very sensitive or you have lots of pustules and cysts use hypo allergic cosmetic products / special soaps, lotions, gels/ like Eucerrin, Avene or Bioderma/. Gently rub the cleanser into the skin for a few seconds. Work into a full lather and rinse thoroughly and then pat dry.
Exfoliate your skin once or twice a week. Steam your face to open the pores, this way you will be able to clean your skin in deep. Remember: Never exfoliate the skin if you have cysts or pustules – you can seriously irritate the skin and make the acne worst.

Step 2

Reduce the oily secretions
Use specially designed tonics and lotions for oily and acne prone skin. They should contain salicylic acids, glycolic or hydroxyl acids and benzoyl peroxide. The lotions and the tonics speed up skin cell turnover, dry up the oils and promote sloughing of dead skin cells. Before applying , gently wash the affected area with a mild cleanser, then pat dry. Apply to the affected areas of the face or to the whole face.
Other alternatives:

  • Immediately after you have steamed your face, while your pores are still open apply salicylic acid to the face. It’s true that it won’t be comfortable but the tingle simply means that it works. Wait it to dry and apply tea tree oil dilated in 15ml. hot water. The tea tree oil acts the same way as benzoyl peroxide.
  • To remove dark spots or small acne scars you can use salicylic acid and vinegar. It is important your pores to be open. First cleanse the area of discoloration with lotion and apply the vinegar with a cotton pad. Your skin may become reddish for a while because of the vinegar but after 30 minutes it will fade. If the salicylic acid dried your skin you should apply a few drops of olive oil or hydrating cream to the face.

Here is one “wonder-working“ recipe:

Steam 3 green tea bags, 6 tbsp ginger in 250ml. water. Let it boil and when it cools apply the mixture to the face with a cotton pad in the morning and at night. The effect will be striking – after one week most of the scars and the pimples will disappear and the skin will renewal.

Put 2 tbsp lavender and 3 tbsp ginger into a boil. Stand directly over the steam and drape a small towel over your head for keeping the steam from escaping. It will not only open your pores but it will cleanse your skin in deep.
